How we help

Seafarers UK is the leading maritime charity supporting people from the Royal Navy, Merchant Navy and Fishing Fleets, who have risked their lives at sea. Over the past ten years Seafarers UK has granted in excess of £28 million and our important work continues with particular emphasis on:

Ensuring elderly seafarers can live a dignified and poverty-free life, with access to health care and domestic assistance.

Helping dependent families and children to maintain a reasonable quality of life including accommodation, clothing and education.

Ensuring serving seafarers have access to reasonable shoe facilities including transport and communication with their families.

Providing financial assistance to maritime trainees especially those from underprivileged backgrounds who want to train for a seagoing career.
