Thank you to all the companies who supported Seafarers UK by attending our special events and entering teams in our UK Challenges in 2007
Below are two examples of how companies have supported us recently.

Lloyd’s Register 24 Peaks Challenge
Lloyd’s Register sponsored the 24 Peaks Challenge for two very successful years. In 2006 and 2007, the company was Title Sponsor of the event benefiting from high profile exposure on all event marketing and a brand presence on the weekend. In addition they used the opportunity to encourage several teams from the company to take part. The resulting inter-company camaraderie was cited by Lloyd’s Register as the main benefit of the sponsorship.
Though their sponsorship period has come to an end they remain strong supporters of the event. To find out about sponsorship of 24 Peaks 2008 please contact Anne Durrant on 020 7932 5963 / anne.durrant@seafarers-uk.org
Gales Seafarers Ale
London-based brewer and pub retailer, Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C. recently launched Gales Seafarers Ale. For every pint sold, five pence was donated to Seafarers UK. Seafarers Ale was available during September in selected Fuller’s, Gales and free trade pubs, as part of Fuller’s Autumn Beer Festival, which involves a different special beer for each of the three months of the season.
It was the first time Fuller’s had worked with a charity in this way. John Roberts, managing director of The Fuller’s Beer Company, said: “We’re delighted to carry on the tradition of supporting our nation’s seafarers, and I personally can’t think of a more enjoyable way to do your bit for charity.” Ian Jenkins (pictured), Chairman of Seafarers UK was invited to start the brewing process by adding the Admiral Hops which gives the ale its distinct flavour and he was on hand too at the end of the brewing to sample the Ale!
