What is the Seafarers Swig and how do I do it?
It’s simple. Any gathering, night in the pub, coffee morning or party can be a Seafarers Swig. All you have to do is incorporate a little bit of fundraising in the evening and donate the proceeds to Seafarers UK which we will then use to help Seafarers in need. The only criteria to make it a Swig is to have a drink! So swig a cuppa, sink a pint or sup a Pimms and help raise money at the same time.
How do I make money from my Swig?
The sky is the limit! A few ideas include:
- Add a little extra to the ticket price of an event you are organising.
- Hold an auction or raffle.
- Do a pub quiz and charge people to enter.
- Have a race night at the local pub.
- Organise a coffee morning at work and charge for homemade cakes.
- Nominate yourself as official tea maker for the day at work and get colleagues to donate in return for you making all the brews.

Once you have registered fill in the online merchandise form to order goodies to get your party started. As well as collecting tins, buckets etc we have Seafarers Swig bunting for your venue, posters to advertise the event and T Shirts to give away as prizes or for organisers to wear.
