London Marathon 08 a huge success for Seafarers

Congratulations and a huge thank you to everyone who ran the London Marathon in aid of Seafarers UK this year.

 

In total 33 runners ran on behalf of the charity, a fantastic figure that should lead to some vital funds being raised to help seafarers and there families in the UK.

Seafarers UK launches 2 Million Reasons fundraising campaign

 

Seafarers UK, the leading charity for the maritime community, has launched its biggest ever fundraising campaign, 2 Million Reasons.

 

Aimed at raising awareness of the ‘forgotten’ plight of the UK’s seafarers, including fishermen, Royal Navy, Merchant Navy, Royal Marines and their families, the two-year campaign will underpin Seafarers UK’s fundraising activities for the next two years.

plus a private view of "For Your Eyes Only"

 

the first major exhibition devoted to the life and work of Ian Fleming.

Gales ‘Seafarers Ale’ proves huge success for charity

Back in September, Fuller Smith & Turner P.L.C. (Fuller’s), London’s traditional family brewer, and Seafarers UK joined forces to create Gales Seafarers Ale as part of its Autumn Beer Festival.

During the course of the festival, 78,336 pints of the ale were sold in Fuller’s pubs throughout the UK along with several independent pubs, making the beer a huge success.

Almost £3million given in grants by Seafarers UK last year
