Seafarers UK is the new name for King George’s Fund for Sailors, which has been helping seafarers since 1917. It is an umbrella organisation that awards grants to other maritime charities.
How we work
Seafarers UK is an umbrella charity that gives grants to other charities. If you work for a charity that sometimes helps seafarers or ex-seafarers your organisation may qualify for a grant from Seafarers UK. By seafarer we mean someone who is, or once was, in the Royal Navy, Merchant Navy or fishing fleets. We also give grants to charities that help seafarers’ families, including widows and children.
To discuss whether your organisation can apply for a grant please call Chris Brown on 020 7932 5975 or email chris.brown@seafarers-uk.org
For more information on who we give money to and how we work please download our Annual Report.
